Plinky Question of the Day

nnir_banner_plink

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature I added to the blog to get to know you guys better and vice versa.  Sometimes the questions will deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t.  Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

Name a movie that has a great soundtrack.

I’m going to cheat on this one and list two movies that have fantabulous soundtracks.  They are:

Dirty Dancing (Original) Track Listing

(I've Had) The Time of My Life by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
Be My Baby by The Ronettes
She's Like the Wind by Patrick Swayze
Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen
Stay by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs
Yes by Merry Clayton
You Don't Own Me by The Blow Monkeys
Hey! Baby by Bruce Channel
Overload by Alfie Zappacosta
Love Is Strange by Mickey & Sylvia
Where Are You Tonight? by Tom Johnston
In the Still of the Night by The Five Satins

Garden State Track Listing

Don't Panic by Coldplay
Caring Is Creepy by The Shins
In the Waiting Line by Zero 7
New Slang by The Shins
I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You by Colin Hay
Blue Eyes by Cary Brothers
Fair by Remy Zero
One of These Things First by Nick Drake
Lebanese Blonde by Thievery Corporation
The Only Living Boy in New York by Simon & Garfunkel
Such Great Heights by Iron & Wine
Let Go by Frou Frou
Winding Road by Bonnie Somerville

Your turn ladies and gents. Name some movies you thought had amazing soundtracks.

This is a question for the boyfriend. He's the knowledgeable music person. I'm just like, "OH! GOOD SONG!" and turn up the radio.

Valley Girl. Best batch of 80s songs :)

@ Amanda - LOL!

@Briana - Good choice. Couldn't agree more.

I love Dirty Dancing. I'm going to go with Purple Rain. It's really scary when you can recite the words after years of not hearing the song. I have the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack in my car right now. So 80's and Blue Grass. Yea weird.

@Jen - Purple Rain's a good one and I see nothing wrong with jamming to O Brother Where Art Thou in the car. Rock. It. Out. ;-)

YES! LOVE DD. And Garden State introduced me to Frou Frou. Great choices.

Dirty Dancing is a given!! That's a damn good soundtrack :) Oh and Grease...everyone loves Grease!

I also loved the soundtrack for Queen of the Damned...it's got Korn on there, no way that's not full of awesome! lol

Believe it or not, I also liked the soundtrack for the original Twilight...it was way better than the actual movie, lol.

@Isa - Grease is DEFINITELY up there. You're right. If Korn is in the track listing there's no way the soundtrack is NOT full of awesome. ;-) LMAO! Touche my dear.

Dirty Dancing and Grease are definitely the best two out there. I also love Moulin Rouge's soundtrack. In fact, Jason and my wedding song comes from there! lol

@Julie - I don't think I've ever watched Moulin Rouge. Which song from the movie was your wedding song?
